Supporting you through life's challenges with compassion and understanding
"You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
C.S. Lewis
Does anxiety feel like it's taking over your life? Are your relationships causing you stress or confusion? Perhaps past experiences are holding you back, or you're going through a difficult transition and feeling overwhelmed. You might be dealing with health challenges or life changes, or simply feeling stuck and unsure where to turn.
If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place.
I'm Sophie, a NCPS accredited counsellor offering integrative counselling for adults in West Sussex and online. With over 30 years of experience in people development, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my practice.
I work with adults seeking short or long-term support for a range of issues, including anxiety, relationship difficulties and life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting women through the perimenopause and menopause, understanding the mental, emotional, psychological and physical challenges this stage of life can bring. My approach is tailored to you, meeting you exactly where you are and working at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Counselling offers you a safe, confidential space to explore whatever's troubling you. It's not about giving advice or telling you what to do. Instead, we work together to help you understand your feelings, gain clarity and develop the tools you need to move forward. My role is to listen without judgement, support you through difficult emotions and help you find your own path to positive change. Whether you're dealing with something specific or just feeling overwhelmed, counselling can help you feel more in control.

People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. You might be dealing with anxiety, depression, stress or low self-esteem. Perhaps you're navigating difficult relationships, grief or life transitions that feel too much to handle alone.

I also specialise in supporting women through the unique challenges of midlife. Perimenopause and menopause can bring profound changes, not just physically but mentally, emotionally and cognitively too. Whether you're dealing with low mood, imposter syndrome, identity shifts, children leaving home, caring for elderly parents or career changes, I understand how overwhelming this time can feel and I am here to walk the journey with you.

I offer a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation where we can have an informal chat about what's bringing you to counselling. There's no pressure and no obligation. It's simply a chance for us to see if we're a good fit and for you to ask any questions you might have.
People come to me for help with a wide range of issues. Here are a few of the more common difficulties that can be supported through counselling:
Feelings of stress or anxiety
Depression or low mood
Low self-esteem
Grief, loss or bereavement
Relationship issues
Life transitions
Menopause and perimenopause
Issues with home life and family
Career changes
Difficulties at work or in retirement
Carer's issues

I'm based in West Sussex and currently offer online counselling sessions, making my services accessible to clients across the region and beyond. Online therapy means you can work with me from wherever feels most comfortable for you.
My practice serves clients throughout West Sussex and the surrounding areas, including Horsham, Crawley, Worthing, Chichester, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead, Burgess Hill, Uckfield and Shoreham-by-Sea.
I also work with clients across Sussex, Surrey and further afield, as online counselling removes geographical barriers and allows you to access support without the need to travel.
I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your journey towards positive change.
Initial Consultation - 20 minutes (telephone or online) - Free
Regular Counselling Sessions - 50 minutes - £50 per session
Payment is required upfront before each session. I accept bank transfer and other electronic payment methods. Once we've arranged your session, I'll send you payment details.
I understand that financial circumstances can make accessing counselling difficult. I keep a limited number of reduced-fee sessions available for anyone experiencing financial hardship. If this applies to you, please get in touch to discuss what might be possible.
Life happens, and I understand that sometimes you need to reschedule. I ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. Unfortunately, sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will need to be paid for in full, as I won't be able to offer that time to another client.
