Integrative Counselling in West Sussex and Online

Initial Consultation

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, but reaching out is often the hardest part. I'm here to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

I offer a free 20-minute telephone or online consultation with no obligation. This is your chance to ask any questions you might have, tell me a bit about what's brought you here and see if we feel like a good fit. There's no pressure at all, it's simply an informal chat to help you decide if counselling with me is right for you.

Issues I Can Help With

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress or low self-esteem. You might be dealing with relationship issues, grief, trauma or life transitions that feel overwhelming. It might be past events that are holding you back. Whatever you're facing, counselling provides a space to work through it at your own pace.

I also specialise in supporting women through the unique challenges of midlife and beyond. The menopause and perimenopause can bring significant mental, emotional and physical changes that can impact every area of your life. You might be dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, sleep problems or a sense of losing yourself. Perhaps your children are leaving home and you're questioning your identity and purpose. Maybe you're juggling a demanding career whilst caring for elderly parents, or facing difficult decisions about work and relationships. These transitions can feel isolating, but you don't have to navigate them alone. I understand these challenges both professionally and personally, and I'm here to support you through this phase of life.

My Approach

I work integratively, which means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on what you need. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I tailor our sessions to you and what feels most helpful.

Person-Centred Therapy

This approach puts you at the heart of our work together. You're the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a warm, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely. I trust that you have the capacity to find your own answers when given the right support.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Sometimes it helps to look at the patterns between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. CBT offers practical tools to understand these connections and make positive changes. It's particularly useful if you're dealing with anxiety or unhelpful thinking patterns.

Gestalt

This approach focuses on the here and now, helping you become more aware of your feelings and experiences in the present moment. It can be powerful for understanding how past experiences affect you today and finding new ways forward.

What to Expect

I currently work online, offering flexibility and convenience for your counselling sessions. Online therapy means you can access support from the comfort of your own home, fitting sessions around work, childcare or other commitments. It removes the need to travel and can feel less daunting than attending a physical space, especially when you're taking those first steps. All you need is a private, quiet space and a reliable internet connection. Many people find online counselling just as effective and personal as meeting face to face.
